Re: Chillout Tent

I concur - B&GiA is a great album, however, "Chillout..." is actually one of the "weaker" cuts. ...plus, THS are former Minneapolis boys! Lots of Twin City references (e.g. Grainbelt Bridge, et al) on that album. Elizabeth Elmore had a fantastic little pair combos called Sarge and then the Reputatio...

Awesome pics & video! Thanks!

...I have lots and lots of great pics from the Brookfield Zoo the next day, however, no Soul Asylum-related subject matter.

Re: Chicago Show Review

My daughter (11) actually managed to meet Dave after the show. He was pure Dave - cordial, funny, friendly & self-effacing ("Oops...I spelled my name wrong" while signing her shirt).

The weather was perfect & the show was great.

Re: Chicago Lincoln Zoo August 22nd - PRESHOW MEETING

I will be there with my 11-year-old daughter (she is the one who dressed up like Dave P. for Halloween a couple of years ago). We'll be driving in from Champaign, so between the Cubs' game and Friday rush hour it should be a hoot.

Tut-tut, it looks like rain!

Re: How did you get into Soul Asylum?

I was in a band called the Bowery Boys I used to bartend at The Toad in Milwaukee & saw The Bowery Boys a handful of times. I'm pretty sure I have a cassette in a box somewhere too. Didn't Jay Bennett or Adam Schmitt have something to do with the recordings? Ha! We used to hang with Die Kreuzen in ...

Re: How did you get into Soul Asylum?

I was in a band called the Bowery Boys with LeRoy Bach (Wilco, Liz Phair, et al) in the mid-to-late 80's and we opened for SA in DeKalb at NIU. Previous to that a friend of mine who worked in the record store across the street from the record store in which I worked in Champaign, Illinois gave me a ...
