Slowly Rising is an amazing song. The whole friggin' album should be in regular rotation on radio.

2008 July 4th - Heinz Field. Pittsburgh, PA
July 4TH in Pittsburgh at Point State Park Heinz Field - South Field Stage. Does anyone have any details on this show? Are they headlining or opening? How much? is this an all day festival type thing? What time? Soul Asylum could always stop off in DC/VA/MD on their way to Atl and save us about $29,...

Re: Candy From A Stranger - 10 Year Anniversary
I really like this ablum. I was really baffled by the lack of "push" the CD received from radio. There are 6 songs that easily could've been in "heavy rotation" on FM radio. Yet, I only remember hearing "Laughing". I really think the following songs would've done really well on radio and in video. C...

Re: Hang time?
I claim to be a huge SA fan, yet I only discovered the minority yrs a few weeks ago. (new to me)
Great collection of studio and live tracks. Well worth the ducks.
The live version of Something out of Nothing is pretty insane.
Great stuff. God Bless iTunes.

Re: Tiny parts of songs that make all the difference
great topic. The feedback in "All the Kings Friends" near the end of the song during the line "There was a time and there was a place" - The tamborine in marionette during the line " so why do you think she's so scared of ya...what do you think makes her that way?" I like how the tamborine comes in ...

Re: What is the first record you ever bought?
My first LP with my own money was either The Rolling Stones Tattoo You or something by Adam and the Ants.
I clearly remember being 8 or 9 and throwing a fit in the sears record dept until my Mom bought me Rock & Roll Over by KISS.

Re: How did you get into Soul Asylum?
My friends and I went to see this new band called living color at the old 930 club in Washington DC. Living Color was opening for some band called Soul Asylum during the Hang Time tour. I was on crutches w/ a broken leg. Had no idea what was in store. We decided to stick around and see what these gu...
