Re: The Holy Trinity - Who is best?

You go Phil! I agree with everything except I'd point out that Husker Du had some nice acoustic songs on Candy Apple Grey - like Hardly Getting Over It

Re: The Holy Trinity - Who is best?

I've heard this kind of thing before too, but if they wanted to separate themselves so badly from Husker Du, don't you think it would've been a better idea not to have Bob Mould produce two of their records? I think it's more about them wanting to stand out on their own and be considered a good band...

Re: The Holy Trinity - Who is best?

(In the UK SA initially were never mentioned without reference either or both Husker Du and the Replacements, a fact which irritated Dave I remember. I was wondering what everyone thought of those other bands. I love both Huskers and the Mats, but they aren't comparable to Soul Asylum, as they don't...

Re: What is your favorite song on The Silver Lining?

No, the blue Horse record was maybe a dollar or two more than the regular one because i bought at the time it was out, so was not so collectible. I also bought the Tied to the Tracks 45 at the time it was out, so I think it was just a couple of dollars too! I don't have most of the other singles, bu...

Re: What is your favorite song on And the Horse They Rode In On?

I think that I agree about the production of the album, not that I knew that was the problem at the time it came out. But I was strangely fairly disappointed with it at first listen - until I saw them play the songs live and then I LOVED it. So its obviously not the songs, but probably as you say th...

Re: What is your favorite song on The Silver Lining?

I agree foureyedsometimes! I have every other SA album on vinyl (except of course Time's Incinerator), all of which - except Say What You Will which I bought at the same time as Made to Be Broken -were purchased that way when they came out. (then later on CD also) I was even able to get Candy From A...

Oh my god Sheryl, I have to say that I've loved Dave since I was 15, but I always said that Sara Gilbert reminded me of him!! I thought it was because I was just a little obsessed!!!!
