Re: 2011 April 30th - Kentucky Derby Fest, Louisville, Kentu

Really good show, got to hear I Did My Best live which was a treat for me. Marionette was the opener, that was cool too. Didn't hear The Streets but they played Gravity, and Into The Light. They also played Somebody To Shove, All Is Well, Misery, Whatcha Need, Lately, Cartoon, When I Ran Off And Lef...

Re: The article on rollingstone.com

This is great news. The three songs Ive heard are all good, I really dig The Streets. I don't care about record sales, airplay and bullshit like that but I sincerely hope this record does well enough that Soul Asylum is encouraged to keep doing what they do.

Re: Soul Asylum and Mark Price

Im with you on this. Mark Price is one of my favorite players of all time and Soul Asylum are one of my favorite bands of all time so to me it cant get much better. That video came out during my teenage years and I remember it fondly, the world was big and full of possibilities.

Re: I dont get the unfair criticism

Yeah, songs like To My Own Devices, Eyes Of A Child and I Did My Best don't really strike me as being commercial either. They strike me as being good, honest heartfelt rock songs.

Re: I dont get the unfair criticism

I just want to say this- I think Let Your Dim Light Shine is way better than all the records made before Hang Time. In every way possible, its a superior record but then again as Ive said before Hang Time is the record where they started to hit their stride, so to speak.
