Re: New Soul Asylum Song: Let's All Kill Each Other

Oh yeah, I'm good. But I am not exaggerating when I say that I check the myspace for new material almost daily, ever since they first put Stand Up and Be Strong up there. Hearing about this from a friend who heard it on DC101 was a jawdropper lol.

Re: Favorite lyrics/lines

Sidetrack: Listening to Oxygen atm, and every time I do, it catches me all over again. Amazing. How many bands that are 25+ still make songs that can slip into their top 5 all time? (Ok, probably plenty of crappy bands. So how about Grammy winning bands?) Anyway. My contribution to the thread: I don...

Re: New Soul Asylum Song: Let's All Kill Each Other

I never, ever get excited for a political song. ...Unless it's new Soul Asylum. I've been sick for like a week, I am so mad I'm so late on this.

Re: What is your favorite album by Soul Asylum?

Grave Dancer's Union. My fiance let me have a 24x36" rendering of the cover on the wall above the fireplace, and so whenever a member of her family comes over and asks why there are naked child butts on the wall, I have to explain that it's the greatest rock and roll album of all time. And then I gi...

Re: the story behind gone til november

I'm pretty sure Dave just liked the song, and they started playing it in concerts around 1998. The version with Wyclef was at the .... crap, im blanking on the name of the show... I think it was a VH1 series similar to MTVs unplugged... I can't remember if Wyclef was there at the same time, or they...

I thought it looked that way. That's kinda awesome.

And for those of you who didn't realize Dave was the shit at first glance, well, I've wanted to be him since I was 7.

Re: No love for 'Welcome to the Minority?'

For me it was about putting some money in Dave and Dan's pocket. It's was also nice having an official recording of an A&M era show.

Re: Slowly Rising

I'm pretty sure this was played Nov. 3 in Atlanta. I've seen it live at least twice, but don't remember whether the other time was in Birmingham or Memphis. I think I might know what the song title refers to, but that's about it. If it's what I think, there's a reason it's not crystal clear. But th...
