My gosh, this post is soooo late. Apologies.
Anyway, when Runaway Train won the Best Rock Song in 1993, did Dave as the songwriter gave a speech? Did Soul Asylum perform or accepted the award as the performing band?

This was one of the awards that was not given during the ceremony on tv. It was announced among other awards as the show went to or came back from commercial.

Really? Well, maybe there were some pictures? I remember watching the ceremony ( it was 1994, not 1993), but i don't remember much.
Was Dave bald then? Or was it some other band i took for Soul Asylum?

I remember watching the ceremony too, because once I saw Dave/SA mentioned in the list of non-televised winners I called one of my friends to tell her.
I don't think Dave's ever been bald.

Bald male rock singer in 94... im going with Ed Kowalczyk from the Band Live, or Michael Stipe from REM.

I don't know if I can visualize what a bald dave would look like. Would he even have a head without his hair everywhere? It makes me think of a hairless rat or something. It just isn't natural.mystic_spiral_3 wrote:I don't think Dave's ever been bald.

Or Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins? That was my first 'bald guy' guess.triumph3434 wrote:Bald male rock singer in 94... im going with Ed Kowalczyk from the Band Live, or Michael Stipe from REM.
So frustrated. Get up anyway.
So complicated. Changes every day.
