So does anyone know if they charted? Seems as though they had a good chance with all of the best buy promotion.

I think Silver Lining went in at 155 in America.

I've bought two so far LP & CD. Maybe the Best Buy one day as well.

Might be too early to be updated on there or it just hasn't charted according to this page.

According to this page, it looks like The Silver Lining made 155.

And officially dropped in at #160 on the billboard 200 albums chart. Somewhat disappointing considering the Best Buy exclusive edition, but what can you do.

I still LOVE this record.

I don't see how it's disappointing seeing as they've been off most people's radar since the late 90's and how little promotion they did for the Silver Lining.

There aren't many bands who still land on the Billboard charts after being around for over 30 years! Therefore, congratulations, Soul Asylum!

Soul Asylum’s ‘ Delayed Reaction‘ is at No. 160 while The Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘Pisces Iscariot‘ reissue is at No. 161. Both records sold 3,000 copies.
I have no idea if 3000 copies is a lot nowadays for a band like SA... I guess it's not if the Smashing Pumpkins sell just as many copies of a reissue of a B-side album out of 1994.

If I did the math right, that's only 1 in every 100,000 people in America that bought the new album. I say, that's ALOT of people missing out on this damn fine CD!

Securing a deal like what they have (for the last two albums) with Best Buy is a pretty big deal for any band.

Personally I couldn't care less about how well they charted. Unless they're next single is "Soul Asylum featuring Katy Perry" (LOL) They probably won't chart much, if ever, again. (God help us if that ever becomes reality).

Anywho - to use an example. The Cranberries put out a new album this year, it hit #51 on the Billboard 200, with even less promotion than SA. I suppose they are a bit more known worldwide and that may have contributed, but I just use it as an example that a band with little to no promotion in the last 15 years can still do well on the charts.

I just would have thought with it being front and center at BB it would have debuted a bit higher....
