Cartoon's cartoons

The other day I posted in another thread about Soul Asylum's Cartoon music video and how I came across one of the cartoons which were featured in the video. I did a little research and found out where the other cartoons in the video were from. Just in case you don't want to watch all of the videos (though they all are quite amusing) I posted the times that the specific clips can be seen at.

The first cartoon featured in the music video (with the character wearing the crown) is from a 1949 cartoon called Meet King Joe. There are several shots of this cartoon in the music video. They can be found in the following clip at 1:58 and at 7:30.

The next cartoon featured in the music video (which was the one I orginally stumbled upon accidently) is from a 1931 cartoon/commercial for the 1932 Oldsmobile titled In My Merry Oldsmobile. There are also several shots of this cartoon throughout the music video. They can be seen at 0:33, 1:48, and 3:09. Watch out for the many sexual innuendos throughout this one!

The third (and final) cartoon featured in the music video is from a 1952/1953 GE spnosered, informational short film titled A is For Atom. Both this video and Meet King Joe were both done by John Sutherland Productions. The shots that are in the Cartoon music video are the "giant" getting larger in the sky and of the atoms floating through the air. These can be seen in the following link at 0:50 and 7:48 respectively.

I always loved that video and knew all the cartoons had to be from something.

which begs the question, how did you track down which cartoons were used in it?

First I tried searching for cartoons with keywords that fit the descripiton of the characters, the era, and style. Then I just figured it would be easier to do this:
