very cool. he has some really great stuff.

i have some pinup and propaganda type ephemera that i bought from dan on ebay a while before silver lining came out. i used to follow his auctions and wish there was more of a possibility i wouldnt be outbid! generally things went way higher than i could pay for them, but i did get a couple of neat things. and many is the hour i spent drooling over the art on his website. for some reason unclear even to myself, i stopped buying from him when i found out he was danny from soul asylum.

Maybe your subconscious just wants Danny to focus more to his music. :D

That could be it ;)

I think though, that once I became actively interested in Soul
Asylum again it just seemed awkward/weird to me that one of my favorite ebay sellers was also Danny. We'd emailed back and forth about items, and I'd occasionally bothered him to keep an eye out for certain things, something got hung up in the mail once and you know ebay says 'give your seller a call!' and of course as a regular buyer I had his phone number. Once I realized who I'd been talking to I suddenly felt like I shouldnt be emailing and CERTAINLY wasn't going to be calling.

I had some sort of "OH MY GOD!" rock star issue :)

It's kind of unfair to him, really, that someone would freak out and stop buying from him just because he happened to be in one of their favorite bands.

Oh the humanity.

I find it pretty awesome that they dug up the old Cartoon video for this feature instead of just tossing some clips of Runaway Train in there.

Yeah, it was nice they used Dan's song when talking to Dan. And it's a much better song.

I also loved the way they stressed 80s band, not 90s (circa RT).

And Danny's "well, first of all, I'm a guy" is GOLD

Hi folks...

I own the gallery that hosted Danny's illustration art exhibit. I noticed a bump in traffic coming from this site and that I would stop by and say hello and thanks.

The exhibit was amazing. This is an overlooked genre in the art world and Dan Murphy is an expert in this field. It really is fun to listen to him discuss with sincere passion the subtleties of illustration art.

The exhibit was extremely well received. There is a terrific review of the exhibit at:

Also, we hope to do another exhibit of Danny's collection next year, with a focus on men's pulp magazine covers. It is early, but stay tuned.

Thanks...
