What about John McNugget, or Ryan Turtledove? Were they ever in the band?

Nope and nope; not even a search comes up for them having any relation to the band when searching for their names with Soul Asylum on Google.

For the list of past and present band members check out the members page of the site.

Can I ask where you are getting these names from though, cause doing a quick search I don't see them listed anywhere as musicians.

I come back to town today
I've been on the highway for days
Now behind the place she lives
I say into the treetops forgive

Bonus points to those who get this reference :)

It sounds somewhat familiars, especially the latter half; I want to say its lyrics of the song Turtle Dove which I think is by Semisonic or the lead singer's (Dan/Doug Wilson?) other band which I forget the name of at the moment. Maybe its some other Minneapolis band.

I might be completely way off and its just a poem possibly written by one of the mentioned names (but I didn't get any results for lyrics or poems when I searched for their names yesterday).
