Dave Pirner = resident playboy??? How did they come up with that, or was it I who missed something?

I think that compared to the other tidbits there, Soul Asylum's so far had better "where are they now status". There was no mention of any diva behavior nor any breakups (there wasn't any anyways). They have to mention them playing in a zoo though and conviniently did not mention Lima or Spain... Yahoo! sucks.

I also liked it when they, at least, acknowledged the fact that they formed in 1981. They predated Grunge by a decade! They chose a nasty picture though LOL

" cut back on his smoking habit " ? Andrew mentioned he was buying sigarettes in Spain. So does Dave still smoke ?
They didn't write about Silver Lining.

As far as I'm aware he still smokes; I've seen him at several concerts last year doing so.

I don't think the author did a whole lot of research on him (and/or SA) since the mention of that can be found on his Wikipedia entry (see 3rd paragraph).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Pirner

Maybe the author may didn't even go that far and felt compelled to include the first thing they read about him; just Googling "Dave Pirner" comes up with the following text:

http://www.google.com/search?q=dave+pir ... US270US271

Even if he has cut back I definitely find it strange that there was no mention of TSL (maybe because it wasn't listed in a search result for "Soul Asylum").

In my opinion a poorly researched entry of them; I've seen quite a few recently.

Don't forget the idiotic intro:

"...here’s a brief update on some ’90s artists who won’t be on the comeback trail this summer."

Riiiight. According to the users comments (and I haven't had a chance to check yet...maybe some of you can tell me if this is true, well except for the obvious one), some of the groups are still putting out music and touring. "Not on the comeback trail"???

I am looking into their official sites....whichever ones I can find to get the real story...and if, indeed, half the people on the list haven't needed to be on the comeback trail because they never left.

I've checked...of those on the list, at least four, maybe five are still touring today..and creating music. What an ignoramus!

He doesn't. It's a fan page.

I know that a fan runs the page, but it's Dave's page anyway.
I mean, it has show schedule and other information.

Oh! That's what you meant!

As lune ellise pointed out here, there's also a Soul Asylum page, though I don't know if that one is as up-to-date as the Dave Pirner page.
