Happy Birthday, Tommy
Wow, is the baby of the 'mats really turning 43?
Happy Birthday to Mr. Tommy Stinson, the cutest member of The Replacements and the second-most awesome bassist Soul Asylum ever had.
You rock, Tommy! Keep it up.

Happy birthday Tommy! Keep rockin'!
So frustrated. Get up anyway.
So complicated. Changes every day.
So the darkness fades
And the light, will come shining through.

Happy birthday Tommy!
Tommy made the Celebrity Birthdays this morning on the local news. However, I think they referred to him as a Guns N Roses singer. My brain is quite fuzzy in the morning, but I know I heard GNR and not SA. Still, was cool to hear about Tommy in the morning.

Happy Birthday, Tommy (a bit late), and thank you for the tremendous music.

Will Tommy be joining GNR on their upcoming Canadian tour?

I don't know, but I sincerely hope that he's not going to Japan with them. Those Japan shows are the same week as First Avenue! I'm glad he got to be in a band as big as GNR (GNR? More like "Axl and Friends") but I hope he has more loyalty to Soul Asylum. I can't speak for the man, but in my opinion he belongs with Soul Asylum. I know he's not an original member of either, but seriously, at least SA is a real band. GNR is just a hodge-podge of eight random musicians from all over the place that should have hung it up years ago.mrsromek wrote:Will Tommy be joining GNR on their upcoming Canadian tour?
But again, that's just MY opinion. I know Tommy and Axl are good friends.

And he's actually been in the band since 1998 and made a huge contribution to Chinese Democracy, but I hope he'd choose SA over GnR too... he brings that rock attitude to the band that you won't find with just any bassplayer. Anyway, it's not sure that GnR is touring and with them you never know... even if it's scheduled it can be cancelled at the last minute.AlyssaJones wrote:I don't know, but I sincerely hope that he's not going to Japan with them. I hear what you all are saying, and I hate to say it, but I am sure the GNR gig pays a bit more. I just find it funny how he wouldn't sign my GNR Chinese Democracy CD when he did contribute quite a bit to the album. Someone mentioned he is not getting royalties or whatever, but what did that album sell anyway, 300, 000?
