Cheers oxygen for the feedback on The Great Exaggerator. That's definitely a key change in the final verse to what sounds like D A, ending on E. There's very little guitar to pick out chords on the verses, shame there doesn't seem to be a live version anywhere to compare it with.

Yay, Faces and Names, love that song. Great work on that. Watching the video I'm sure some of those C chords are actually Fmaj7, but I could be wrong...

Intro: C Fmaj7 x2

C___________________________________________Fmaj7
There was something in the air that day like gunpowder or sulfur
Em_____________________________________G
And soon a wild migration came from upstairs like a storm
C__________________________________Fmaj7
I was at a costume party and although nobody noticed me
Em____________________________________________G
I mingled there stark naked All my emperor's clothes were torn
Am________________________G
And suddenly the sprinkler system ran the makeup down her dress
_____________C___________________Fmaj7
And I must confess I had forgotten whom I went to meet there
Am________________________
Something was not right right there
G__________________________________________C_____________Fmaj7
And there I saw you five years later like someone I'd never seen before
Am_____________________________________G
And my life flashed before me and exploded into flames
C____________________________________Fmaj7
Now I just sit back and laugh cause the only thing that's changed
______________________C
Are the faces and the names

C Fmaj7 x2

Standing Water

Intro: A

Verse:
A
Down from the mountain
F#m
Running wild through the trees
D
A crystal glimmer
E
Rolling along so effortlessly

A
Trickled down from the country
F#m
But the city sucked it in and spit it out
D
Now the gravity pulls you
E
Through the curbside now as it's getting light

Pre-Chorus:
_______Bm_______C#m
And it's too soon, too fast
____F#m______________B
And that ain't ever gonna last

Chorus:
A
Standing water
F#m
Standing too close to the sun
D
With your rainbow runoff
E
You're like a sitting duck waiting for the summer rain to come

A F#m D E

I was a lowlife in the highlands
I was barely living up to standards and demands
I had… I had run out of reasons
To let myself believe in anything

I wanted to phone home so many times
But I've never given in, you know dreams never die
Woke up in a cold sweat
I was breathing still, my heart wasn't open yet

Dried out by the hot sun
There's never anywhere to run

It's like standing water
Standing too close to the sun
With your rainbow runoff
You're like a sitting duck waiting for the summer rain to come

Solo: A F#m Dm E

Where there… there once was a country
With champagne rivers running wide
There was free land flying
Out the door in the middle of the night

And they were pushing every button
They were paving their way to the blight
They were breaking laws that they had made themselves
Dictating what's wrong and what's right

So proud, so strong
But that don't mean you're never wrong

It's like standing water
Standing too close to the sun
With your rainbow runoff
You're like a sitting duck waiting for the summer rain to come

Standing water
Standing too close to the sun
With your rainbow runoff
You're like a sitting duck waiting for the summer rain to come

A F#m D

E
Like a sitting duck waiting for the summer rain to come

A F#m D E

A

Many Thanks Trimuph. Glad that You have played my version of Faces and the names.

I think Tonem that Your suugestion about Fmaj7 chord in Faces and the names is good. With Fmaj7 there is more melody in the song than in my version and good work on "Standing water" Tonem !!!

Great job Tonem on Slowly Rising !!! I play D instead of D7 and it sounds fine for me. You did perfect chords for that song including the riff. I saw many times the video of “Slowly Rising” but I gave up the work with the chords. I have recently heard “Lonely For You” from Black Gold - Greatest Hits of SA album. What do you think about this song Tonem? I have never seen the video of this song. Could You help me with the chords . Below I have added the list of chords and tabs for Candy From a Stranger album.

Thanks for the feedback Oxygen, glad you liked Slowly Rising. Good to see the whole of Candy From a Stranger is now tabbed. Hope to finish off The Silver Lining soon :)

Lonely For You's a really nice Candy outtake, don't know of any live performance of it. I've had a go at the chords, not sure if there's more to it...

Lonely For You

Intro: F C x2

F__________________________________C
Barefoot and pregnant she tries not to bend
F__________________________________C
The ear of the doctor's not much of a friend
____Bb________Am_______G_________C
The doctor's on location missing his kids
C______________________________G
And wondering where she went to live

F_________________________________C
Spend time alone and look after your life
F____________________________________________C
Remember your loved ones, your boyfriends, your wives
____Bb________Am_______G_________C
And if you are lonely and she's lonely too
C_________________________G
Then she will stay lonely for you

C________________________G
Yes, she will stay lonely for you

Am______________F
Come what may, come someday
C________________________G
And she will stay lonely for you

Solo:
C G
F C x2

Patiently waiting for taxis to come
To take you away from all you have become
The driver tells stories like he's your best friend
And you hope the ride never ends

To all of the ones who have got no one else
Who keep their own time and look after themselves
Someday you'll meet someone lonely as you
And he will stay lonely for you

Yes, he will stay lonely for you

Am______________F
Come what may, come someday
____G
And I…

C__________________G
I will stay lonely for you
C__________________G
I will stay lonely for you

First I would like to thank Tonem for prompt response about the chords for „Lonely for You” . I have been playing this song since You put it on this thread. I have just spotted Bus named desire. You do great job on Silver Lining album. Thanks for every song. Hope that SA will come to Europe this year…….. What do You think Tonem? Is there any chance to see SA ? See them playing live Misery, Black Gold, etc. in Berlin or London?
