I saw them tonight at the Gretna Heritage Festival. They were really good. Lots of energy and stage presence.

I saw them play for the first time this past August in Biloxi, MS - the setlist tonight was very similar, here are the songs (order is probably off)

Somebody to Shove
All is Well
Misery
Lately
Cartoon
Gone till November
New World
When I ran off and left her
Black Gold
Whatcha Need
New song Gravity
Just LIke Anyone
New Song Into the Light
Oxygen
Never Really Been
Without a Trace
Runaway Train
Closer to the Stars (this song is great live)
Bittersweet heart
Stand-up and Be strong with Eli.

No encore songs.

I think that was all the songs. The only thing that could have been better was if they let Soul Asylum play on the river-front stage. I watched a few bands down there, it was cool. Seating up on the levee like an ampitheater, and the down-town New Orleans sky-line as the back-drop.

Props to my wife, 8 months pregnant, for braving the crowds to see another show with me! Our daughter to be likes power chords. She showed her approval by headbanging and kicking during the opening tunes.

We look lots of pictures and video. I'll try to post some of them on here.

I know I'm a little late, but thanks for the review and set list. I was at this show but didn't know enough of the names of the songs to actually list them. I'm proud to say I have learned much in the past few months.

The riverfront stage is pretty cool. In 2009, they played at the stage directly across from the riverfront stage, on the other side of the levee. It was a little weird in 2010 - this show was on a new stage in the spot that once was the courthouse building - recently demolished. It was great use of some dead space. And, it's right across from the lock-up so and I'm sure the inmates really enjoyed it, too!

I'm guessing they don't do encores cause they're suppose to be off at a certain time so everyone can go to the main stage to see the big headliners (last show of the night). If memory serves, in 2009 it was Foghat and in 2010 the Doobie Brothers

I still say what I told everyone I know after 2009 and 2010, Soul Asylum were the best thing at Gretna Fest (even better than boiled seafood and especially better than those mutant turkey legs that's all the rage there).

Right! It's better to come late than not to come at all! :D

And, so glad I did!
