Dear Dave and Dan,

Take me home, Passing Sad day dreams, I need a fearless leader or a bittersweat heart. Wonder if I will CU Later with Mrs. Romack. The Stranger is coming, and we will try and Phil the gap with Mr. CLean! MIA any MA cream puffs (or is that pi).

Too bad we are not shooting off another space shuttle. How come the Russian's/East of the Altantic get to have all the fun?

Thinking of Something in October, as opposed to Nov., any ideas? I think you should come. CO is a definite possumbility. Maybe we would find some Leftover Salmon. If not the beer is mighty fine. Hear the Oaks are talking to the Maples. And do not count out the Aspens. Not exclusive to Vail. East Coast West Coast, I need an agenda for my suitcase.

Any one like Dali? He liked fish. River Art Center, Chicago Sat.(this one). Thinking 3 or 4. Defininetlly after noon. Where is the bus station? I need to pull someone from under the tires. Of the bus named desire of course.

Where am I crawling too again? Is Norther WI and MN nice in Aug.

Sorry to call you up. Thanks for your time and consideration.

I live in Chicago....to get to the gig you wanna go to Sheffield and Webster. You should take the Red or Brown line to Fullerton then walk one block west and 3 blocks south. This is what the Chicago Transit AUthority told me They are at 836-7000. HAve a nice time...the weather is a little iffy....today is Friday and there is a nasty thunderstorm outside.

So if you get there early and you have some time walk a few blocks down Webster Ave. and go to OZ Park and find all the statues within the park.

What a show! I was thisworried at the beginning because it seemed like Dave's voice wasn't going to hold up, but instead it was fine after a couple of songs and awesome by mid-set.
Tommy Stinson is an all-time favorite musician, so to stand 8 feet away, directly in front of him was a rock and roll highlight of my life.
Kudos to the audience! Everyone was totally into it, and these were obviously real fans.

Great night in Chicago - the weather held just for us!

"Official" Setlist

Marionette
Easy Street (A street Dave has yet to find, he states beforehand)
Somebody to Shove
Misery
Lately
Whatcha Need
Black Gold
Without A Trace (dedicated to those gone too soon)
Ran Off And Left Her
Gravity
Cartoon
Into the Light
Never Really Been (lyrics were reversed, but I find that entertaining!)
Runaway Train
Closer to the Stars
Just Like Anyone
Stand Up and Be Strong

Oxygen
All Is Well (not played)
**My Generation** instead

Gone Til November was thrown in there somewhere, too - always a good one.

What can I say - I just love these guys. Every show is a good show in my opinion! Great to see all the familiar faces of the regular SA posse! Until next time.......(and that can never come soon enough)

I concur -- Dynamite show! And so great to see the Chicago gang.

Such a great energy from the guys and in the crowd. Chicago audiences always have a good turnout of die-hard fans.

I loved that moment when Dave realized he screwed up "Never Really Been" by jumping ahead to the final verse, and he smiled and changed the last line to something like "And I still have one verse yet."

No matter how many times I see them, the thrill never fades. Every show is pure joy from start to finish, and I'm always looking forward to the next one. :)

Me and all my friends were at this show Saturday. F-ing amazing. These guys tore it up. I was stuck in the beer line when Misery came on, but I didn't miss much else.

I recorded Saturday's show:

You need an account to use the site. I wish Soul Asylum was on archive.org - if anyone knows how I can easily contact the band directly for permission let me know and I'll upload it to there too.
