Good call. I still buy physical product any chance I can, but doubted I could find this. Just bought this and Dave's solo album for $12 total including shipping. Sweet deal.

And just scored a side stage lower for Springsteen on Friday. Nice way to end the night.

The studio version of By the Way isn't very good in my opinion. Dave just sounds bored singing it. I had a copy but I deleted it by accident and never bothered getting it again. The Palais Royale version is alot better.

I never thought Dave was bored on the studio take, but I agree, I was thinking the same thing, the Palais Royale version is so awesome.

I like the "demo/ studio" version better. Listen close and you hear birds. His voice is relaxed like it's a first take early in the morning. I like the slower tempo better; the Palais Royale version sounds a bit rushed.

Completely off topic, but By The Way has always been one of my favourite SA tunes... you can clearly hear that the song was recorded as a demo, but I still like it a lot... I think I posted this before, but whatever... this guy does a good cover version of it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prCv5cis3Cs he seems to be a big SA fan seeing as he covered several SA tunes.
