The fans on Facebook are planning on lining up even earlier than that. 1-2pm was mentioned, actually.

I've only not gotten a seat for a show at the WolfDen once; and usually show up about an hour early. I don't think I can justify standing in line for 6 hours.

I would be available earlier in the day but not early afternoon on.

Not sure what my access to the board will be like as it gets closer to the show but if anyone needs to get in touch I'm @ChestnutCrested on Twittter. Friday I'm going to be on airplanes & shuttles most of the day.

some folks will be there super early. i usually take a peek at the line when i get there, and confirm it's only 10 people or less then eat in peace and join the line. the line goes straight back then turns a corner at one point. i've been around the corner and still gotten in.

i don't see the point when anybody who gets in can walk right up to the stage. anyways good luck to us all to get spots! ps yeah where on fb is this discussed, i'm nosy!?

[[[pps i am still optimistic that i will be there. as long as i don't fall ill .... fingers crossed[i am living in a germ fest alll week. it's been a bad week!]]]]

I showed up right around 7; and got sat immediately; with no wait. I was at a table w/ three others. ( Apparently I sat with one of them for the Soul Asylum show 2 years ago ). But, they had a fourth member of their party that wasn't their when they got seated. When he showed up; the hostess-style-person asked if I'd be willing to switch and she put me on the floor. It was my first time sitting on the floor at the Wolf Den. I was 1 table back from the stage.

A handful of random thoughts:

1) Winston and Justin switched spots so bass was on stage left and guitar was on stage right. Dave said it was the first time the band ever did that.

2) The setlist was roughly what you'd expect from recent full gig shows. No new songs.

3) More old songs than I expected. ( Marionette / Little Too Clean / Spinnin / Closer to the Stars / Never Really Been ). It was my first time seeing Spinnin' performed live.

4) I really like The Juice live.

5) I think the band is re-working songs, even if the reworks are slight. For example, I thought the Intro to Never Really Been was always just acoustic; except here was Justin was playing too. Ditto for Closer to the Stars. I think there was a part in Black Gold after the instrumental part where all instruments went silent except for the acoustic and singing. I'd swear that was 'different'. Stand up and Be Strong was done all electric; and Dave took the lead riff. Justin took the lead riff to Somebody to Shove; which didn't start w/ a lot of feedback. Stuff like this doesn't change the songs all that much, but just subtle things that struck me.

6) I think Justin was having guitar troubles throughout; and one song even started without him. Michael had a problem with his hi hat at one point too; but that was quickly remedied.

7) The first part of the encore Dave did a short sing along w/ Old McDonald.

8) If I hear Dave say "You're much to kind, you're much to kind" again my head may explode...

Overall, I enjoyed myself as always.

My recording sounds great; but my listen-through on the way home had some static at some points. I don't know if that is the bad cable in my car [which I keep forgetting to replace] or problems on the actual recording. I'll try to get that edited and posted this week.

Soundcheck set list:
Into My Arms (Nick Cave cover)
The Juice
Spinnin'

Show set list:

Without a Trace
Never Really Been (changed to where will you be in 2023)
The Juice (Dave played harmonica and referred to it as his braces and headgear)
I Did My Best
Little Too Clean
Marionette
Lately
Oxygen
Misery (with Silly Love Songs at the end, dedicated to Macca/Sir Paul)
Whatcha Need (people need to not lose money gambling because college is expensive)
Black Gold
Runaway Train
Closer to the Stars
Gravity
Just Like Anyone
Somebody to Shove
Stand Up and Be Strong

Encore:
Old McDonald
Spinnin'
April Fool

I enjoyed the show and the guys seemed to be in good moods, having fun on stage. Dave said they had a new album "in the can...that means it's done!" It was good to see my friend Jenifer at an east coast show and also good to see Nicole, Brian, Carin, Bill, Judith, Rob, Ken, Kenn, and Mary. :)

great show!

I had a booth upfront stage left but stood in front of Justin the entire time. we wandered around looking for the guys post show but then settled back at the Wolf Den bar and waited til 1am but they didn't materialize. (pout) I was lucky to meet them in Wilkes-Barre. I'll try again at Tipitina's!

to Dave and Kelly from NJ: it was fun hanging out and I hope to run into you again at another show when they tour the upcoming album. (Dawn)
