i just found a couple of video clips of some acoustic stuff...the person who put them up said it was a private show on a boat, last year?

For an isolated date like that the sound and light rental will probably be more than the band fee. No disrespect intended to the band. I was a booking agent back in the day. These days you could probably get them for around $10k over the summer - plus 1st class airfares, hotel, rider and backline. BTW The guy from The Smithereens will come to your house and play in your living room for $1000.

1st class airfare, really?

That's gotta be better than Dan and Dave taking the train, which is what they did from NYC to Boston a couple yeaars ago :lol:

I wish I could afford to hire a band for the big b-day. We justA may have a great location...our comment about it to one of the owners got "Well I don't see why not" but we haven't pursued it as of yet in an official way.

I guess though that I'm going to end up going with as many of my friends in local bands as I can convince to come play.
