I don't know if you are talknig about all shows at First Ave or just Soul Asylum shows at First Ave, but lots of shows sell out quite quickly there and Soul Asylum always seems to sell the place out. Whether it be right after tickets go on sale or the night of the show, why take take the chance...get them as soon as you can.

No way is Todd an ass......I'm just saying.

norma023 wrote:Not to be an ass or anything (like I've been accused of on a different thread), but when has a First Avenue show sold out two months in advance? Umm, never. Those shows typically don't sell out until the week of.

Just stating the facts ma'am

oh I'm not saying it won't sell out, as it will for sure, but a lot closer to the date of the show (typically the week of, not two months out).

Also, was only talking about SA playing at First Ave, not any other bands

Heya, hold your horses! Wasn't calling you a maam, that was a Jack Webb reference from Dragnet. :D

Truth to the matter is, the band - SOUL ASYLUM rarely sells out tickets immediatley after they go on sale (only speaking on local shows), past history proves it. This band isn't that big.

So no hate bro', just didn't want to burst anyone's bubble

And when have I ever called you an ass? And why am I all of a sudden a ma'am? Where's all the hate coming from, Todd?

It's cool. No hate.

The forum must have reset cuz I noticed that I haven't been receiving emails for a few weeks so I checked the site and had to setup my subscriptions again...hence the late reply.

Back on track with this thread...anyone have any plans of taping the show? I would but I don't have the gear. Plus I'm too old to be hanging out in the middle of the floor so you'll probably see me on the second floor next to one of the bars.

Just in case anyone cares...the opening bands for this show are The Evening Rig and Mayda.

I will be leaving from the Chicagoland area and making the long drive to MN to see this show. My girlfriend and I did last year's show holiday show at First Avenue. We were going to see the Harriett Island show this year(we did last year) but my lady started a new job the week before. We are staying overnight right down the road. I can't wait.

You know, one of these days we really need to organize a car pool or a bus to get to these shows. I live in Madison, and find myself heading to MPLS way too often. But at the shows I always end up seeing the same people I see at the Chicago and Millwaukee shows. It's great that there are so many dedicated fans, but the drive really kinda sucks, and gas isn't cheap.

Of course, that said, I won't be at any of the holiday shows, so I'll have to miss out.

I also feel like a kid waiting for santa to arrive!

Woke up this morning on my 1st day back in Minneaplois with snow on the ground outside the fist snow I've seen in 3 years!

Been wanting to see a Soul Asylum show in one of their hometown clubs for many years and now this week Santa will finally deliver that present!

This is kinda related to this thread, considering it is a Minneapolis show...

Has SA ever covered Purple Rain? It seems when a lot of national acts come to Minneapolis they'll cover the song. Off the top of my head I can think of Foo Fighters and Candlebox.

Just wondering if we may get some Purple Rain on 12/21
