Re: Dave show in NOLA for tonight ??
Looks to me like it is 7 pm friday to midnight Saturday but it's definitely worth looking into to be sure.norma023 wrote:The rock band throws a patrons party, concert and charity auction to benefit the BTE Foundation, 7-midnight Sat.
At $200 it's on the very high end for me, and I know for sure I wouldn't be able to go even if I still lived in Houston!norma023 wrote:Tickets are $200, includes the concert, food and an open bar.
Sheryl, are you going?
So frustrated. Get up anyway.
So complicated. Changes every day.
So the darkness fades
And the light, will come shining through.

yeah that is price is waaay too much for me (not that I'm going), but Ticketmaster says this when I searched to see where Better Than Ezra is playing for tonight:
"Price includes Open Bar and Food, Silent and Live Auction"
Could starve yourself all day, then feast out while you are there, wait and rest and go back for seconds/thirds/deserts etc.....

nope, im absolutely not going. i feel like shorting the rent $200 with a note "spent some of this to go to daves show" probably wouldnt go over too well.

Wow. Better than Ezra and Dave P. at the same show. Wish I could go.
Re: Dave show in NOLA for tonight - March 28th ??
how did 'we' not know about this until the day of?? i'm not in the area but it stresses me out to think they could play near me and i wouldn't know about it in advance and miss it! (yes i'm paranoid).
and if this was a fundraiser, wouldn't they want to reachout to the fans of all the performers to maximize attendance and funds??
correction i realize now it was Dave performing and not 'them' the band. but still. i feel bad for anybody who could have gone if they'd known more in advance.

I'm a little put out that I found out about it on here! I mean, really? Given the number of people I know who without a doubt knew about this it's a little irritating that nobody thought to mention it. Had I known in advance it's possible I could have gone, because I'm very good at being creative with money given enough time
One thing I'm interested in is how much money they actually raised...because $200 for an open bar and unlimited food in NOLA??? Are people who don't live here really in any way aware of how much the people here LOVE to eat and drink, and the vast amounts of alcohol they can put down in one night? Even I have no trouble running up a $200 bar tab and Im not a heavy drinker by local standards.
I'll be amazed if they didn't end up actually losing money
And I found out today that Dave only played fifteen minutes. So I don't feel like I missed much.
It was still annoying to have to find out about the day of, online.
