It was a REALLY fun show! Dave was in great spirits, and they sounded good.

BTW, is Winston wtill in the band? I haven't seen him at any live shows lately.

What full band shows have there been without Winston?

The December show at First Ave he wasn't there. And I don't remember him at the Fine Line show last year either.

Ah, thanks. Well, he was on tour with SA all summer. And he has other gigs outside of SA, so maybe he misses a show here and there.

I asked about Winston at the Fine Line show and was told he had another commitment that night. I last saw Winston in February of this year, so he's still around. Also, at the RSD show, it appeared that space was an issue. (small stage) I think an upright bass fit better in the space they had. Don't know if that was a reason, but the 3 of them just fit and an electric bass would probably have extended into the crowd.

The reason is probably just that he had other commitments. He's a professional musician who plays with a lot of other bands and artists and sometimes he will have another gig scheduled and won't be able to do the SA gig. That's probably the same reason why Michael hasn't been around for every gig the last years. Soul Asylum is a part-time band. For Michael, Winston and Ryan this band is just one of their gigs, they all have other stuff going on.
