I will be driving 5 hours from NY to this show! I am super excited. I've also never seen The Lemonheads before which I am totally stoked for.

Does anyone know about seating for this event? Obviously, I'd like to be all the way in the front for Soul Asylum. Is seating first come first serve? Or is it on a lawn?

Any help would be appreciated!

<3 Travis

the FAQ page on the link i posted that it says youc an bring your own lawn chair stuff so it sounds like first come first serve.
ok yeah here it is:

"Can I bring a blanket/chairs to sit on?
A: Yes. Much like the 4th of July shows at The DCR Hatch Shell, it is on a first come first served basis for attendees to claim their real estate.

Can I bring a cooler?
A: Yes you may! There will be many vendors handing out free samples as well as a few selling food but you are more than welcome to bring your own.

May I bring alcohol?
A: No. There is not alcohol allowed on the DCR property. "

that's from this link http://www.bostonradio929.com/content/1 ... io929.aspx

i'm confused ont he times though.

SA's myspace page says it's at 6pm but a couple other things say the 'fest' only goes from noon until 5:

"hours: noon to 5pm"
http://www.bostoncentral.com/events/fair/p11562.php

"Radio 92.9 has announced the 16th Annual EarthFest will be held on May 30th, 2009 from Noon to 5:00 pm at the Hatch Shell in Boston."
http://www.bostonfamilylife.com/2009/05 ... tival.html

so i wouldn't plan on trusting that 6pm note on the myspace page 6 in case SA goes on earlier... i'm probably going to go up for noon if it's a nice day - but not sure hadn't had time to decide yet
( i'm just back from vacation so am still catching up on stuff.)

i'll only be going up for the day - no hotel, it's about a 2 hour drive so not so bad for me.

BTW, expected crowd is 100,000 for those of you going and apparently there's something called VIP seating for the event (don't know how you get these other than volunteering -- see the volunteers page at the main concert site.

I may be getting a photo pass for this. That would be very helpful because there is no mention of a photo policy in that FAQ.
