I don't have the faintest idea where a new album might be on their timeline, but they're recording.

The exit for the backstage leads just outside the bar area which is where most of us and Dave were were hanging out for a couple hours. Dan and Tommy went off to gamble as they weren't there real long.

As far as the recording is going, they just finished a demo.

i was right in front of the stage near dave when this happened. dave actually didn't look like he was kidding when he mocked the yelling. It looked like he was annoyed by the yelling out of his name. It was in fun when the ladies screamed for him. perhaps he was uncomfortable by it? A strange reaction from him i thought from something so minor and in obvious tribute.
Maybe Dave is tired of his long-standing stage persona ("Davisms") and resents having to keep wearing it. Maybe he wants to change his stage persona. Maybe we should let him.

Dave obviously likes to laugh and joke around onstage. So when he doesn't do it, it isn't that anybody is expecting it necessarily, but it is noticeable when he looks pissed, tosses guitars around and gets visibly upset onstage then storms off. It is one extreme to the other. Yet It didn't bother me and it was one incident during the whole setlist that I noticed.

I think some people here are referring to the performance more than the fooling around or lack thereof with the "Davisms". Or his public persona. I am not sure. i didn't think he missed spots necessarily. He let the audience singalong on parts, and it was apparent he was off because he knew his guitar was messed up and that was very obvious he was trying to get that handled. He told his tech more than once. I was watching. It is why he lost it and threw the axe. Maybe not the best reaction for some but whatever. I can't believe it ruined anybody's idea of the show. But that's me.

I only noticed he forgot one part of "I did my best" and we took care of it for him. I also thought he seemed into it and happy for 99% of the show other than when he tossed the guitar. So that isn't really an issue it is live music.

i don't think he was shit faced either. I will say it was noticeable later on the issues esp. when he tossed the guitar and walked off. That was not too cool to toss the axe, but like i stated before he did try to rectify this situation.
i am not too concerned it didn't ruin my idea of the show or make me think he was a prima donna. I looked past it like a majority in attendance seemed to. "I did my best" was awesome and a welcome addition to the set IMO. I am glad they played it. I heard it during soundcheck, too. I really enjoyed myself. Awesome show.

The encore was top notch as well. Hey people do have technical difficulties. It didn't interfere with their performance I thought.

Plus about the landshark thing- so what girls screamed out his name in fun? It was fans of his that see him all the time anyway that did it. No one is saying he has to be a certain way necessarily either. He may have been kidding, but it isn't too big of a deal. It just seemed like he thought it was annoying and he made it clear. I may even be way off base. It really isn't that big a deal anyhow. I just merely was saying it seemed odd to me. I can see if it was happening every 2 seconds like the guy wandering the front of the Landshark stage asking every act and every band member to wish his friend a happy b-day. Then he could yell, smack, and even body slam the guy off the stage during the show! That guy was a character!

Must have misunderstood. I apologize if my remarks were out of line, Rebel Yell5.

No apologies allowed. I like the opportunity to discuss the show. I know I have gone to the same show with someone, stood right beside them all night and my take on the show was different from their's. I thought we were just having fun discussing. And that is what makes the forum awesome!

Thanks again to Jim and Jakob!

k

so realize I am answereing my self back, but talk to my self all the time :o . So Dave was wearing his Aquaman shirt and not the superman cape! Although sure a halloween show would be great! And wouldn't it be great to see everyone in costume. Liked the show and the venue as I have said. But would really like a Chi, indoor show before the holidays (don't know if it is in the budget... happy to take donations :). In November....
