Ah yes, the show times. There has been some confusion lately. I went to a show last week @ The Wolf Den. The Springsteen Tribute band. Quite good, actually. The Sun site said 8:00. When we arrived, the sign at the entrance to The Wolf Den said 7:00. When I asked what time it would actually start, I was told 7:30. Huh??

Sure enough, it started a little after 7:30. I don't know why this has been happening, and it doesn't hapen all the time, but when you make plans based on published info, it would be nice if it was correct. I was also at The Gin Blosssoms show this past summer where it happened as well.

I would suggest getting there early just to be safe. I can't wait!

wouldn't one ALWAYS arrive early to a show they want to see? as a taper, I know to get there as early as popsicle, for MANY reasons. go early.

hi there! wow good to know it wasn't just my mistake i'm normally so organized and i didn't know if it was just me or what. but i still had fun watching from the edge. i had a prime edge spot and had a fun dancing lady next to me that helped the vibe going in our area.

and interesting to know they have this issue other times too.

well i did get there (gin blossoms) 1 hour early (or so i thought) and i think it was a sunday evening so not like a fri or sat night. i wasn't as die hard about going to that as i am for SA though. ... i'll plan to get there early on feb 27 :)

Re: New Show in CT (what time to get to Wolf Den area?)

Post by TravisSaves »

Hi everyone! I am beyond excited for the Soul Asylum show this weekend. I will be traveling to Mohegan Sun from Long Island, NY.

The website says 'Come early. Seating is limited.'

My question is, since I have never been there before: What time do you all recommend I get to the Wolf Den area where the concert is?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

<3 Travis

i have been wondering myself and am trying to get to the entrance area 2 hours early just to be on the extra safe side.

i saw SA at here in 2008 on a monday night and got in 'line' 1 hour before the show, and there were only 5 or so people in front of me. i got a decent table (i feel like some of the spots are reserved for tribal members or something because it seemed like other people were already in there when they let us in- i definitely didn't get the 6th closest spot - my seat was probably better than 2/3 of the seats in the place).

however that was a monday and so i worried it might be busier this time on a saturday - hence my plan to 'line up' at 6pm. i think they let you in a bit before the show to start taking drink orders so i'm hoping i won't have to stand the whole 2 hours before the show - so i can sit and rest up some and then stand again DUring the show :)

another point of reference - on a weekend night i went there to see gin blossoms and arrived exactly when they started playing (because the casino's website time was wrong) - the wolfden was full but i JUST managed to get a good spot by the railing so i had a great view of the whole show from there - but once the music started curious onlookers crowded over so i lucked out w/ my timing.

(it's just an area inside a huge casino that's separated off with waist level railings - that's why you can see the show from the 'outside')

I am keeping fingers crossed that this snow gets the heck out of the area so I can drive safely.
