Monolith Maniac wrote:Great night for a concert especially since the whole day it looked like it was gonna rain; lots of mosquitoes though. Dave mentioned a few jokes about bug spray. Dave told a bunch of other jokes, including the antenna/reception one.
The stage was up on a small hill and at the bottom (about 50 feet) of the aforementioned "goofy fence" was the front row. The park was located right off the shore of one of the many lakes in the area.
About a minute before the end of the concert some guy runs up to Dave who was singing on the hill and starts to do Dave's Bittersweetheart hip-wiggle; the security got on him quick. At the end of the concert Dave just fell down and seemed to play dead for a minute.
This was probably the first concert I recall them not playing Stand Up and Be Strong at all (I know it got cut short a while back). While it did seem a little awkward not to hear it, Rhinestone Cowboy definitely made up for it.
Dave, Dan, and Tommy were hanging out back for a good half hour talking and signing autographs for everyone. Great time; past 2 outdoor concerts (this and New Lenox) have been a blast... great crowds, awesome atmosphere.

Yeah awesome show last night! I met you at the New lenox show, Jim.
Last night I was a few feet behind you in the center of that awkward stage. They seem to be leaving Sometime to Return off the set even though it has been on the last couple. It would be nice to hear that. I must admit what they played in its absence of that and Stand Up and Be Strong was even better! Rhinestone Cowboy and My Generation. Also they did at least half of Detroit Rock City by Kiss with Tommy do the lead vocals ala Paul Stanley and Dave singing back up ala Gene Simmons. It is nice that they are doing 2 more area shows in the next 2 weeks.
