Take It To The Limit Band - January 8 1987 Minneapolis, MN

Dan Murphy-Guitar, Vocals
Martin Zellar-Guitar, Vocals
Jim Boquist-Bass, Vocals
Dave Pirner -Drums, Vocals

This is a classic show by some of the origins of the super group The Golden Smog.
They decided to play an all eagles cover show for better or for worse.
What follows is a show that should not be taken remotely seriously.
In the spirit of the smog, they played all covers, and ended with Walk Like An Egyptian.
It's hard to say anything more about the show, it's hilarious, and fun and just a lot of fun.
Well worth it if your a fan of any of the bands involved, or the modern day Golden Smog.

Dang, I missed the Take it to the Limit band. I've got it on tape, always loved it. I wonder if there is a slightly cleaner copy floating around. Could you reupload it please?

Thanks!

It's been a while since I've posted here. First off, these vintage pictures showed up on Facebook in the last few months. Great shots from 7th Street Entry in 1983?

Another reason for no posts lately is my main computer hard drive crashed a few months ago and I have not had time to fix it yet.
I had backed-up of almost everything, but I will attend to this soon.

I also started a music blog http://lofinoisemakers.blogspot.com/
My latest post is about Soul Asylum Pre-Grave Dancers Union. It was going to just be about the band over the years and the blog turned into something way too long for a blog. I cut it down in size a many times. More on the band in future posts.

Sadly Patty and I will not be attending this years holiday shows. Hope everyone has a blast,, maybe hear some new songs?

Happy Holidays

Nice blog, and great call on Pink Floyd 1969-1971! I love that era too. I call it Post-Syd/Pre-Darkside. Not that there is anything wrong with those eras, but I totally dig Obscured By Clouds, Meddle, Pompeii, and Ummagumma (live disc).

Hey Mike,

the Unplugged show on your SoundCloud page, that seems much better quality than the complete version that went around years ago. Seems better than even what usually came straight through the TV. Where did this one come from? Also, it looks like a couple songs aren't downloadable - Runaway Train and To Sir with Love. Also, Track 8 (Somebody to Shove?) seems to be missing? Can you make them downloadable? Thanks!

Hey Rob
I got the audio from a VHS promo copy that I then transferred to DVD and lifted the audio. Yes a agree it's the best version I've heard.
I think I fixed everything on Soundcloud but if not you can get it here, including the video.
