iTunes Essentials: Minneapolis

Post by Homesick »

I just found out there's an iTunes Essentials: Minneapolis. Needless to say, I was expecting at least one song by Soul Asylum, but it turns out there are none. (Dan is represented in there through Golden Smog, though, with Won't Be Coming Home.)

I'm not too familiar with the Minneapolis music scene apart from SA. Those of you who are: What do you think of the compilation?

[Edit: This is weird: The tracklisting on iTunes doesn't list Soul Asylum, but the one I copied from here does, and the compilation was linked to from Soul Asylum's page on iTunes.]

Looks like a great list. There are a few songs I'd replace with others by some bands and a few newer groups that could be added but all in all...a great list. Oh yeah...Johnny Lang is from Fargo and they must not have the rights to Husker Du music or I'm assuming some of that would be on there. I'm very happily surprised that American Head Charge is on there. Awesome band from town who had withstood many problems from every possible direction. Definitely check em out if you like industrial style metal.
