I hate to be the bearer of bad news today, but I just saw it myself. Apparently Vic Chesnutt died today (or yesterday, can't keep my days straight now) from a possible suicide http://www.spinner.com/2009/12/25/vic-chesnutt-dead/. It's quite depressing to read about, as I always liked Vic's music. As SA was a supporter of his music (sweet relief 2, etc), I figured people would want to know about this. I suppose I'll have to put on some of his albums over the next few days in remembrance of the talents he had. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family on this day.

According to the news reports I just read, he is not dead but he is in a coma.

I'm very sorry to hear this but he did pass away with a medical debt of $75,000. A fund has been set up on a fan-based tribute page at http://kristinhersh.cashmusic.org/vic/ where fans can, if they wish, donate money to help his family pay it off.

My condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.

Tis sad... What's also sad is that he probably gets more media attention now because of his death than he did for releasing any of his albums.
