Best albums of 2007
Just figured I'd put this out there, what is everyones favorite albums so far from 2007? So far here are my favorites. They're roughly in order, but it's hard to say.
Grace Potter and the Noctournals - This is somewhere
Grand Champeen - Dial T for this
Richard Thompson - Sweet Warrior
Golden Smog - Blood on the slacks
Lucinda Williams - West
Wilco - sky Blue Sky
Ryan Adams - Easy Tiger
Mark Olson - Salvation Blues
Vic Chesnutt - North Star Deserter
Teddy Thompson - Up front and down low
I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting, but what about everyone elses favorites?

Well, I would have to say Golden Smog's Blood on the Tracks considering that is the only album I purchased so far this year. Actually its classified as an EP, so does that even count as a "best album"?
Theres been a bunch of other great songs out there this year, but nothing that I thought was really worthy of purchasing a CD for.

My faves from 2007 include:
Dinosaur Jr. - Beyond
The Outlets - The Outlets Rock 1980
Robyn Hitchcock - Ole! Tarantula
Pinback - Autumn of the Seraphs
I guess it's fair to include SA's Welcome to the Minority Disc 3: Live in Chicago & Ann Arbor.
And because my 2007 list is so short, I'm going to throw on some of my faves from 2006, which still feel pretty new to me:
Mission of Burma - The Obliterati
The Figgs - Follow Jean Through the Sea
Tom Waits - Orphans
The Goodnight Loving - Cemetery Trails
Spitzz - Touche Pussycats
I'm sure I'm missing stuff. I'm so bad at keeping track of what came out when.

Haven't been too many albums by my favoriite bands yet this year but in addition to a handful already mentioned I'll throw in John Mellencamp - Freedom's Road. Worth it to just for the unlisted "Rodeo Clown," but the rest of the album's haunting sound was a good choice to come with me on a road trip through Utah in March.
Into the Wild is excellent, been playing that one a lot. Sweet Warrior interested me more live than it did on CD, but then again RT is kinda like that sometimes. I'm not too high on Sky Blue Sky though it does have it s moments, but my interest in Wilco's been diminished also by being shut out of concert tix two years running now. Last year I had a recrod 13 albums by "my" bands, this year it'll be lucky to reach 5.
