Still spooked!

My apprehension stems from the events of last Tuesday when I first received a message of a potential gunman on campus. I'm not as shaken now as I was then but still apprehensive. What may have happened is too unnerving to think about. :(

So sorry! My mom is from Iowa, she grew up around Des Moines and Sioux City. I went to UF, and had JUST TRANSFERRED when they had a rash of murders on campus (ever hear of Danny Rawlings?). Anyway, I remember crossing the campus on foot, many times, alone in the dark despite the availability (supposedly) of campus escorts on request. It is kind of hard to project confidence and independence while being escorted by the opposite sex, so I never bothered.

Of course, there was the time when a naked man stumbled into my dorm room one night...ask me later...

Peace,
Carol

I recently graduated from Iowa State. I was checking their webpage just now, and it seems there was a student with a gun early this morning in one of the residence halls. The student was found and arrested, I don't think anyone was hurt, and I think most students were on Spring Break, but still...it is disturbing as I still have a few friends at ISU. :(

Good heavens! It is disturbing as I also have friends at ISU and another who works there as staff. No, I don't think anyone was hurt either. If so, it would have been mentioned in the news service article. From what I've read, the situation was isolated to Willow Hall.

Yeesh....Carol! Yes, the name sounds familiar though my uncle definitely heard about him. He, too, was at UF at that time.

Hmm...if you wish...I just might ask you later...then again, I might not.

LOL!

It's a good story! It certainly taught me to make sure my dorm room door was locked! I'm not fond of being disturbed by strangers no matter what their state of dress! Furthermore...I lived in the last "all girl" dormatory on the campus...

Peace,
Carol

 Umm...yeah, that'll do it! Definitely must have been a shock to him too...stumbling into the wrong room. Ohh brother!
