Game Time! SONG OF SONGS

This is my first game so please - no haters (although everyone is welcome to suggest how to improve it).

Basically, the game would let the participants create a "super-song" out of Soul Asylum's songs. ;)

How To Play:
  • It's really simple! Each participant will connect what the previous participant had typed. He will do this by picking only one line of only one song.
  • To ensure clarity, he should first copy the previous entries, then write below the pasted entries his chosen line followed by the source (the song where the line came from) enclosed in a parenthesis.
  • The game would end when it would reach the 17th line (if you are wondering how I got this figure, I computed 10% of the number of members here).
Rules:
  1. 1. No repetition of a member (meaning you only have one chance of playing the game, but of course you are free to post comments while the game is going on).
  • 2. No repetition of a song (and come on, we are dealing with Soul Asylum here who have tons of material to choose from).
  • 3. Only Soul Asylum songs should be included - no covers are allowed.
  • 4. A line should consist of more than one word.
Example:
(First participant)
See the crowds friendly roar from the cutting room floor (Gullible's Travels)

(Second participant)
See the crowds friendly roar from the cutting room floor (Gullible's Travels)
Comes whipping, comes whirling (Sometime To Return)

GAME!

Lune... Great game! I love the concept!

Here's my contribution:

The door comes screeching open (Just Like Anyone)
No one's around except for the drinking (New World)

I can't wait to see how this turns out.

Sucking on candy and colored cocktails (Debris)

This actually was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. The hardest part is that so many of the best lyrics come in pairs, for example "What is the sound of snow falling down\ On a tombstone in the dead of the night", in isolation the lyrics are just okay, but together they're brilliant. It seems that SA songs are full of such lyrical pairs. I was looking for lines from Freak Accident as well, but again, all my favorite lines were paired. Additionally, I wanted a line to go along with the previous one somewhat, which makes things more difficult.

Thanks! :D I'm excited of the outcome, too!

Oooh that's what I thought, so I was thinking what if we pair lines with different ones - I think it might came funny or downright outrageous. Suffice to say that this is really difficult for us, how much more with Soul Asylum composing out of thin air? ;)

BTW Phil, where did you get the song Debris?

I'm gonna continue with the drinking/cocktails theme.

The door comes screeching open (Just Like Anyone)
No one's around except for the drinking (New World)
Sucking on candy and colored cocktails (Debris)
Here's to falling off the world's dark side (Crashing Down)

So, Lune, do we begin a new stanza now? It feels like that would give our song a little more structure and make it look more like a real SA song.

Great game idea, lune ellise! This is fun.
You can use my line to start a new stanza or continue the old one. It's up to you.

Those rhyming pairs are usually hard to resist, but I went with a line that can stand alone. Are we switching over to the twin lines idea now?
