No words can express how much this sucks.

He will be missed.

:) gets me all the time!

I just heard it - it is so sad. George Carlin is the only person I watch in YouTube aside from Soul Asylum. He is really a pioneer to modern stand-up comedy.

There is a good article about him in CNN: http://edition.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/06/ ... index.html

RIP George... :(

(Un)related news: Philippines is experiencing a devastating typhoon. One of its victims is MV Princess of the Stars, a ferry boat carrying 862 passengers. The boat sank yesterday: June 22. As of today, there only 30-40 known survivors of the ship. Please help us pray for the rescue of those who are still alive, and a peaceful rest for the victims who passed away.

I only knew Carlin from Saturday Night Live and Kevin Smith movies, and maybe a couple of other movie appearances. He seemed like a cool guy. I know I'll miss him.

Did anyone catch his comedy tour last year?

I think my introduction to him was the character of Rufus in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989). Everything else that I have seen him in (from SNL, stand-up, to the Kevin Smith movies) his performances never seemed to fail.

Rest in Peace George.

:( So sad to hear this. Yes, he will be missed. RIP Mr. Carlin.

So frustrated. Get up anyway.
So complicated. Changes every day.

So the darkness fades
And the light, will come shining through.
