Yeah kinda.

What I'm struggling with on this one is that I can (sorta) get behind the idea of "the new" Soul Asylum being a band that is moving forward. Talk of a new album is great and I'd like to see where that goes. However if it's just Dave and some ringers playing the hits such as it is that is kinda a sad story. I can accept Dan being gone if it means good things for the band going forward but this doesn't strike me as a great move. Not going to win over new fans, certainly not going to please the hardcore. Maybe it'll pay for the new record? (Also who the heck is playing all the epic guitar on this tour for Matthew Sweet? Big ass shoes to fill)

When Dan comes back and they do a "Hang Time" or "&the Horse.." tour I'd be down.

Yeah, I mean from a marketing/financial stand point, this might be a good move, but other than that, I don't know. So far there's only like five dates for this, so hopefully it'll be a short tour and not take up their whole summer.

I think this sounds like an awesome idea...

I'd love to see GDU performed in full; even if it is the "new" band.

I think it'll be a great way for the new band to "prove" themselves on the old songs. Presumably it will put them in front of an audience too.

When they did the Holiday GDU show; weren't there a ton of requests that they do more shows like that on their FB page?

I'd love a Hang Time show [even without Dan], probably even more so than GDU; but that seems unlikely.
