Dan the Man (his open-y shirt-y -ness)
I thought we needed a thread for Dan to go along with the "his holeyness thread"
I tried to think of a clever title for it like the hole-y one, but i couldn't - any suggestions?
found this interview about his art collection - topic's not that exciting to me but fun to see him interviewed in a non-music setting for once.
Dan Murphy interview regarding "Dream Girl" exhibit
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02bCFNUk ... re=related
so i recently realized that dave didn't write every single SA song and that Dan has written some of the really great songs. (yeah i'm slow)
anybody have favorite dan pics to share?
oh and if people start gushing - i'm putting a warning here so you don't blame me for not warning.

Re: The Dan Thread (spinoff to His Holeyness)
Teenage Sarah had a crush on Dan.
My friend's mom worked at the local library and would often check out music magazines for her. There was a very good Dan pic in either Guitar or Guitar World in 1993. He had very nice blue eyes in that picture. That same friend also gave me a teddy bear as part of a Christmas gift one year, and we named the bear Murphy.
I should also thank the guy for mentioning Mountain Dew in an article. I remember drinking more Mountain Dew after that. This continued into college, though not so much for the Dan connection but rather for its caffeinating qualities.

I probably shouldn't feed more of this madness, but how about "Dream Guy"?zany wrote:I tried to think of a clever title for it like the hole-y one, but i couldn't - any suggestions?

I thought the "Put The Bone In" thread was the spinoff LMAO
I posted the Dream Girl video before in another thread, I'm not so sure where it is now but I remember someone from the forum (sheryl) actually bought art from Dan via Ebay.

Yay! Yet another thread that I should avoid, but probably won't!
Re: Dan the Man (spinoff to His Holeyness)
thanks homesick for the naming help!
it's not madness at all. it's perfectly sane! sorta.
i found a picture i think he looks really good in on somebody's flickr site:

i just realized why it stood out to me - he's actually wearing a colorful shirt for once. brighter colors definitley suit him... oh well maybe bright and colorful wouldn't be quite right on stage but for other times i think it's good.

I have that picture from Guitar Mag that you mentioned. I'll try and dig it up and scan it in today!
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.
