I'm going to assume he meant to say "my tendency to overestimate the intelligence of the listening public" and not that he meant to insult us.

But very nice to have a message from Dave (including a very sweet and sincere-sounding thank you) and very cool that he's underscoring the importance of this election.
This struck me, too. And he didn't say "the audience" or "the listeners," he said "our audience." It sounds as if he's implying that he believes we're too stupid to understand his sense of humor. Of course, it's just possible that we're fans because we SHARE his sense of humor.

That aside, it's exciting to have a new song and a message from Dave here on the site.

I kinda like the new song, too. :)

Maybe he read the His Holeyness thread and the worsely titled Open-y Shirt-y one? Whatever his intention was I think it's safe to assume he didn't mean to insult us...

And yes, I finally listened to the song. Will post the heartfelt review sometime today.

Wow, this has been the best day of my life! First I went to a really awesome art museum with my friends and then we had lunch downtown (which we forbidden to do) and then tonight I got to see a special screening of Zack and Miri Make a Porno, and then I got to meet Kevin Smith, and then I came home to find that Soul Asylum has written a new song! AH!!! Thank you Jake and Jim! :)

But anyway, I'm sure Mr. Pirner didn't mean to insult us with that comment about our intelligence.

I can't wait to listen to the song.

Possibly the remark was a joke that sounds more insulting than it was meant to.

yep. he called us dumb alright. thanks dave!
i wish i had his email, because my friend jans just sent me the perfect thing , requiring a definite sense of humor and completely in keeping with the political climate, to GET HIM BACK FOR THAT!

i like the song though....and i get it as well ;)

and this was a very cool surprise.

Like Jim said, we're very excited to be part of this. Hopefully, the guys with the band have enjoyed it just as much so that they'll want to arrange things like this with us again in the future. We're nearing 100 downloads already, so there's definitely an audience to be reached through this site.

I received one report of the download not working properly. Did anyone else experience this?

Lune, please go to the new thread I've started and describe your problem in more detail there.
