Re: What is your favorite song on Time's Incinerator?
Hey everyone,
I just posted my beloved mint copy of Time's Incinerator on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0225227169
It really is in perfect condition. I hate to see it go.
And I would love to see it go to a good home, like with someone who is inspired by the band enough to visit a fanboard. So I thought I would post here.
If you have never heard "Nowhere to go", you are missing out.

If it's beloved, why are you selling it??

Good question. The short answer is now that I have two little girls bouncing around my house (ages 5 and 2), I need two things: more space and more money. So I am selling off my music collection, which should provide a little of both. Granted, the cassette doesn't take up much space and won't collect much money, which leads me to the long answer:lucy wrote:If it's beloved, why are you selling it??
Once I started selling stuff I decided to sell it all. If I am not going to have the full collection then it didn't make much sense to just have a couple of pieces. I briefly considered creating some sort of presentation area for my favorite items, but then realized that in addition to some Replacements albums and some Soul Asylum, I would probably also have the Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedys, and many others I didn't really feel like explaining to my now-reading 5 year old. So without a display, I would just be left with 25-30 items that sat in a box.
So I am selling everything, even if it hurts a little.

Yikes, I've been gone from the site for a little over a week and I'm behind on 2 of the last polls already. Anyways, I'm going for Nowhere To Go as well. I love Karl's intro in the song. A very close second on Time's Incinerator would have to be Karl doing Hot Pants. I would have loved to see the show at the 7th Street Entry for the performance of that one. It's crazy, stupid, and fun all at the same time.

This is an oddity. It's great listen, but a tough one too. When is this gonna get the reissue treatment??
Like everyone I love Nowhere to Go, but I voted for Ramblin Rose, as it just makes me smile when I hear it.
I wish Twin Tone would do a similar reissue programme like they've given the 'Mats recently.

Can't put a square peg in a hole that's round.....

I didn't vote because I haven't heard the whole "album" yet, but i've just heard Nowhere To Go for the first time (thanks, triumph3434 ) and it really is one fine, fine piece of art! I'm playing it over and over again, it's really wonderful (not that other SA songs aren't)! I think I know where my vote's gonna go to
So, I wanted to ask you something: does NTG remind anybody else of Bob Dylan's Blowin' in the wind? I mean, when I heard nowhere to go, I started whistling blowin' in the wind and i thought how the two songs are similar rhythmically in some parts. What do you think?

i've finally heard this!!! and i love it! it's so FUN. the whole thing is just so 'fun'
so my favorite song (after only listening to this 3 times) is broken glass. i know it's my fav when i rewind it to hear it twice in a row.
so ... i think i have to reassess my dan-to-dave fandom ratio considering a lot of my favorite songs are dan songs.

Yes, it is fun! That was my first reaction too!
Also, Broken glass - excellent song! I almost voted for that one, but then I decided on Nowhere to go
