Okay, this is kinda dumb, but the other day I was telling my mom about how Soul Asylum has had five different drummers, and she said, "They change drummers like they change their pants," and I just laughed and said, "Yeah, like Dave Pirner ever changes his pants!"
Yeah, that's all...

Great videos! Except for one thing...
Dave's last name is pronounced pur-ner?! I always thought it was peer-ner! This is gonna take some getting used to...

Re: Demo VS Official Release
there was a lot of repeated lyrics and "filler" in the demo which made it over a minute longer than the album version That's what I like alot more about the album version. On the demo version when it gets towards the end it sounds like Dave wasn't quite sure what he was doing. I mean, I like the de...

Re: Favorite lyrics/lines
Wow, I have alot of favorite lines... -If I lost my mind, would you help me find it? -And the gangsters, cowboys, gypsies, and freewheelers sold out their trades to become drug dealers. -You're wide awake, but still you're dreaming of the pride it takes, it has no meaning. Am I still here? Can you s...

Re: Demo VS Official Release
I just can't listen to I Did My Best. There's nothing wrong song itself, but for personal reasons it makes me sob every time I listen to it. It reminds me of my ex-best friend and how I tried so hard at our friendship and loved him so much, but one day he decided he didn't want anything to do with m...

Re: Demo VS Official Release
I don't know which Oxygen I like better. I think the intro on the demo sounds really pretty. I think it would depend on my mood which I'd like better, cuz the demo would be nicer to listen to if I'm in a more quiet/tired mood.

Hm. Maybe you're right. The first time I ever noticed it I put it on AB repeat and played it over like 16 times trying to figure out what it was, and to me it sounds like Dave's voice, but I could be wrong.

I can't be the only one to have noticed this...
This is kind of a dumb thread, but did anyone else ever notice that at 2:35 in Runaway Train you can hear Dave in the background saying "ha!" I mean, he's not really saying it, it kind of sounds like he opened his mouth to sing but stopped himself. I don't know, it's really dumb, but I was just wond...

Re: The Soul Asylum Riff?
Wow, that's so cool. I guess I've noticed it before but I'm just so used to it I never consciously thought about it. There are alot of phrases that I notice they repeat alot. I can't list any off the top of my head right now, but when I listen to alot of their stuff in a row I start picking them up....

Re: Which Soul Asylum songs cheer you up?
My family was surprised when I told them the CD is by Soul Asylum. Over the summer I went on a long car trip with my parents and I brought all my SA cds and when I put in Candy From a Stranger my dad said, "What group is this?" and I was like, "It's Soul Asylum! The same guys we've been listening t...
