Re: What is your favorite song on Hang Time?
Cartoon... I was inebriated the first time they played this song in public. It was at the Cabooze bar in Mpls. and it was Dave and Dan alone playing it on electric guitars. Fantastic. I hope I do not come off like a name dropping butthead on here, but I lived in Mpls. during the heyday and saw every...

Grounded, fur sure.
When 8's turned sideways,
you head on down the highways,
saying this is my way,
disappearing forever?
This song is so elegant and beautiful, and so far out there, where it really is by the way, that it well...grounds me.

There is some crazed guitar stuff going on on that thing. Also, it continues in the fine tradition of a completely whacked out song on a record to keep it real aka Heavy Rotation etal.

Re: What is your favorite song on While You Were Out?
"There's a Billboard in the sky reflecting water in you eye..." I lived in a basement apartment under Dave Ayers, the bands manager in the 80's. He played this record before it was released and I could hear it through my ceiling. I cannot express how freaking great it sounded and how excited I felt ...

Re: Then and Now
Personally, I miss the angst of the older stuff. Made to be Broken, While you were Out, and Hangtime have themes that are so intense and poetic set to such blazing and tuneful rock music that I am still shocked by the greatness of these albums. I mean WTF, if the lyrics weren't so intelligent and th...

Re: Favorite song grand finale
When "Sometime to Return" used to be played in Mpls. The atmosphere would take off like a plane taking flight. By far the most transendental rock moments in my life. They would race through that thing like a teen behind the wheel........"Never-Forever-Whatever" For Sure!
