Delayed Reaction available thorugh midwest tapes
Well all of you librarians out there - you can now order Delayed Reaction from midwest tapes (a common vendor for libraries). In fact you can order the edited version
DELAYED REACTION (EDITED)
Soul Asylum
Rated EDIT
Savoy, released in 2012, sales rank:
Soul Asylum's history includes one Double Platinum, two Platinum, three Gold, and a Grammy Award. Now they are back with an all new album of ten original songs.
Cannot personally imagine why an edited version is required. Grayslake Library will be ordering the parental advisory version and we will shelve it next to 50 Shades of Grey.
I challenge everyone on this site to call or visit their local libraries and ask them to purchase the CD. Most libraries will order on demand. We can have a minor SA revolution.
Peace and see you all in Minneapolis.

Re: Delayed Reaction available thorugh midwest tapes
There's 10 songs on this album, seven of which we've previously heard all the way through. Of those songs, there isn't a single occurrence of swear words or sexual content or anything that would warrant a parental advisory sticker. So either the three we haven't heard yet are really, really explicit songs that would make "Say What You Will" blush, or they're going a little overboard these days on what's considered "explicit content".

I don't know, in America they are always kinda easily offended and such, aren't they? I mean, over there you can't even swear on TV for christ's sake... maybe for some Let's All Kill Each Other isn't too appropriate in a culture where some kids go to school with a gun and actually try to do that.

Well you can say "shit" on cable now and no one really gives a crap. They're still touchy about the word "asshole" in prime time though. Go figure.

Something just doesn't seem right. I checked but I can't find info anywhere besides the obvious ones for GDU and LYDLS, and a Grammy for Runaway Train.levybaxter wrote:Soul Asylum's history includes one Double Platinum, two Platinum, three Gold, and a Grammy Award. Gold – 500,000 (U.S.) / 100,000 (U.K.)
Platinum – 1,000,000 (U.S.) / 300,000 (U.K.)
Double Platinum: Grave Dancers Union
Platinum: Let Your Dim Light Shine, (Candy???)
Gold: Candy, The Silver Lining, Horse or Hang Time?
Even if they are using the U.K figures (which seems odd), I still find the amount of sales to be that high. If they're including their other miscellaneous albums such as Black Gold: The Best of Soul Asylum and After the Flood (Prom), I still can't see them even reaching gold status).
Anyone shed any light on these figures?

I think you just missed that a platinum album is also a gold album.

Ah, it all makes sense now; was thinking too hard I guess.

Some leaks on youtube too now...
Anyway, in Take Manhattan the last sentence you have the line "you can fucking have it''... still stupid, but we're getting closer to know why that parental advisory sticker will be on it.

On Delayed Reaction's iTunes page it shows The Streets and Take Manhattan being "Explicit" songs.Closer wrote:Some leaks on youtube too now...

I hear more "explicit," in terms of overall content, songs on the pop stations at 745 am driving to work, than "Take Manhattan."
