I'm really jealous for those who are going. I went to the PA show in August. It was really fun. Plus, you're more than likely to get Spinnin' in the set.

Hmm, about that article though, it states "Since his time with the band began in 2001, Bland has...."

The first time I saw him play with SA was in 2004 at the Glueks show. He definitely was not playing with the band pre 2004, which makes me then think, who was drumming for them from roughly about 2001-2003??

In 2001, I think it was still Ian Mussington. 2002 I remember a guy named Billy. New Years Eve 2002 it was Sterling. In 2003, according to my notes, it was Billy again.

you know, I bet some of those shows you have notes on were shows I was at, like NYE 2002 when I believe I met you for the first time. Keeping track of drummers was nothing I ever worried about though. :-)

Thanks!

I got into the habit of show write-ups when I sent a long email to my mom's friend about a concert, and she suggested I hold onto it for the memories. Then I started doing this for almost every show I go to. It's like a diary for me. I remember in 2001-2003 it seemed like SA had a revolving drummer ala Spinal Tap.

yes, it was a great show, really high energy. I traveled from NJ to see them; my sixth show this year. I met folks who traveled from Indiana, Minnesota, South Carolina and Texas. we are a widespread bunch and love our band of merrymakers!
I was lucky enough to speak with and take photos with each of them after the Tipitina's show. it's great they are so accessible to their fans. Soul Asylum withdrawal symptoms are setting in already. new tour dates needed STAT...
