I have to go with Runaway Train. It's what I chose for my #3 on my list in the favorite track number album thread. Sometime To Return would be a very close second.

Next question; Favorite of the following songs with 4 words in their title.

Be On Your Way
No Time For Waiting
Something Out Of Nothing
Tied To The Tracks

Something Out of Nothing, definitely. That song is the epitome of cool if you ask me, so it easily gets my vote. 8)

Next up...

Favorite instrumental/non-lyrical chorus: (Rate the chorus, not the song.)

Nice Guys (Don't Get Paid), String of Pearls, Without A Trace, or Stranger?

(I think the chorus of Without A Trace would be considered instrumental, but feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.)

Even though chorus and intrumental seem to contradict each other in my mind (and I know chorus can mean just a line or group of lines repeated at intervals in a song), I guess I'd have to pick String of Pearls.

Next question...

Best song with 2 sets of double consonants...lol:
Endless Farewell, Bitter Pill, I Will Still Be Laughing, All Is Well, or Success Is Not So Sweet
"...and who is the hound at the downtown dog pound who speaks english when the watchman's not in sight?"

Nice question there clammers!

Another tough one, but I'd have to go with Endless Farewell (Success Is Not So Sweet a very close second). To me, it's one of those songs that stands out with a different style than the rest of the album (e.g. Passing Sad Daydream, The Sun Maid). I almost always find those songs (on any group's album) to be great because it shows that the band can manage to pull of another genre of music besides the one they're usually categorized under. If Success Is Not So Sweet was released before Endless Farewell, I'd have to choose that one then.

Next question...

Favorite "Some" song:

Some Obsessions
Somebody To Shove
Sometime To Return
Something Out Of Nothing
Someday Love (Faces & Names)

Gonna have to go with Someday Love. Not because it's my actual favorite "some" song but just because it's the only song I really love off Dave's solo album. It really sounds different and fresh compared to the others.

Next Q:

Best Bonus track from a foreign/non-regular album release: One Way Conversation, Long Way Home, Jukebox Hero, Showtime?

I'll go with One Way Conversation on this one. It's possible it wouldn't have fit with the other tracks on Horse, but it's definitely a great song on its own.

Favorite "ca— ca— ca—":

Ode ("ca— ca— casualty") or Candy From A Stranger ("ca— ca— candy")?

I though I'd bring back this thread (been over a month, and it's kind of amusing/fun)...

Favorite "ca— ca— ca—":

Ode ("ca— ca— casualty") or Candy From A Stranger ("ca— ca— candy")?
I'd have to go with Candy From A Stranger (I still can't believe it didn't make the album). I like it especially for the use of the piano in the song, as there isn't a whole lot of SA songs with one. Ode wouldn't be that far behind though.

Favorite song that contains an album name:

Can't Go Back (Time's Incinerator)
Without A Trace (Grave Dancers Union)
Promises Broken (Let Your Dim Light Shine)
Candy From A Stranger (Candy From A Stranger)

Man, I miss this thread! Thanks for reviving it, Jim!

Promises Broken wins this one, with Without A Trace a close second. In my opinion, Without A Trace is the kind of song that, like a few others (such as Sometime To Return), is brilliant as a single but loses some of it charm over time, while Promises Broken kind of grows on you. I think the extended video (with shots of the band in the desert) made me like the song a little bit more, even.

Oh, and unless you did it on purpose for some reason, you forgot to include Made To Be Broken in your list.

The next question is a bit odd, but hopefully someone will appreciate it and make a choice. ;)

Favorite of the five elements:

Standing Water (water),
The Sun Maid (fire),
Oxygen (air),
Grounded (earth), or
Closer To the Stars (aether)? 8)

(If you have a suggestion of your own—along with a motivation if your reasoning isn't obvious—feel free to choose that one instead.)

I'll have to go with Closer to the Stars because none of the others do much for me.

Hopefully we can revive this little thread! Anyone game?

Best "animal" song?

Caged Rat
Hey Bird
Out of Style (dog mix)
Rhinestone Cowboy
The Snake

Thanks for bringing some life to this old thread (again). I would answer, but I must be honest and say that out of those songs I have only heard Caged Rat.
