There's a bit of a difference in the prices here.

I just read this article... seems like Dave wasn't really into it either at first.
I still think they went overboard with some of those prices.

Re: Pledgemusic comparison
I posted these comparisons in the other thread:
Are you familiar with Pledge campaigns? Here's a couple to check out, the SA prices and options are fairly in line with the norm:
Scott Weiland: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/scottweiland
Blues Traveler: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/bluestraveler
Hinder: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/hinder
The Clarks (an alt-rock/alt-country band is pretty popular in this part of the country). This band did a Pledge for a new album last year that had a lot of similar offerings as Soul Aslyum too, some stuff about the same price and some a bit less. Now the band is doing a covers album and have a smaller campaign for that project: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/theclarksrewind
Re: Pledgemusic comparison
Apparently not, if they sold out of a lot of them. The extras wouldn't be unique if they sold a bunch at lower prices. I assume there will still be standalone CDs for sale at the shows at usual CD prices for folks who don't want to do the extras.Closer wrote:http://www.mankatofreepress.com/news/li ... da183.html

<<<gigs that end up being a balancing act of super fans who follow the band’s every move and casual fans who are in the crowd to hear “Runaway Train,”>>>
I have no idea who these super fans are, LOL.

*looks around innocently*
Re: Pledgemusic comparison
It's my opinion, it's not a matter of being right or wrong, obviously they should do with it whatever they want, it's their band. This is just what I think.Yaz McBoo wrote:Apparently not, if they sold out of a lot of them. The extras wouldn't be unique if they sold a bunch at lower prices.
